Evolved from the highly regarded FH-4800, the all-new, ultra high-speed PFH-4800 quite frankly "smokes" its predecessor. 

With rapid traverse and programmable feedrates both of 2,362 inches per minute, and axis acceleration of 1G, the PFH-4800 comes standard with a faster and more powerful 40 HP integral spindle motor.  Tool change time is dramatically reduced with a shockingly fast cam-operated ATC door and a high-speed, servo-actuated tool magazine with encoder for pocket positioning.

With these unreal speeds, Mazak engineers next wanted the PFH-4800 to be the most accurate machine in its class; and therefore, knew that they must address heat.  Standard equipment includes a chilled spindle and hollowed, chilled X, Y, & Z axis ballscrews.  New double chip troughs are 3" wider and angled steeper to remove hot chips via the larger auger screws.  New way covers are double walled, thus isolating the casting from hot chips and warm coolant.  The result:  The new PFH-4800 boasts accuracies that are 200% better than the ISO standard!

Customers with older FH-4800's are reporting cycle time reductions of 21-24% on their new PFH's.  That's the same as getting 4.8 extra machining hours per day if your shop runs two ten-hour shifts!
